For those of you who haven't heard Peter Schickele (aka PDQ Bach)'s CD
entitled the Overture to 1712, there is a lot of very funny parody on it.
His slight rewrite of the ending for the 1812 overture is a hilarious
little object lesson in the thin line that can separate a memorable,
pwoerful musical phrase and a piece of drivel. I also recommend on that
album his Glass parody titled "Einstein on the Fritz."
