British composer and pianist John McCabe is 60 today (21st April), and I'm
sure everyone on the list will join me in wishing him a very happy birthday.

If you're in the UK (or if there's any other way that you can receive
UK domestic radio) you can hear McCabe's 'Notturni ed alba' and his
Concerto for Orchestra this evening on BBC Radio 3, live from the
Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool at 7.30pm.  During the interval of this
concert, the BBC are broadcasting a conversation with Piers Burton-Page,
in which McCabe talks about his life and work.
