I warmly recommend Alfred Cortot's recordings of the "Prelude, Chorale and
Fugue," "Prelude, Aria and Final," and "Symphonic Variations," which I have
on LP, though I know they are available from at least one company on CD.
In particular, the under-rated "Prelude, Aria and Final" strikes me as one
of Cortot's very finest recordings of any repertoire.
DPHorn, who would love to play the "Symphonic Variations" again.
