The Bluebonnet Brass, a group nominally based here in Fort Worth, played a
dynamite concert a couple of weeks ago with their lady tuba player showing
off in full splendor. She said that in junior high school she switched to
the tuba so she could sit in the back row where the boys were. A decision
she never regretted, and a style indistinguishable from that of the men she
was playing with.
That same concert series is presenting a renaissance concert next month.
I'll have to watch for any men playing the virginal.
