I think his recording of the Brahms piece with Chamber Music Northwest on
Delos is fabulous.  His clear and simple tone and unforced lyricism along
with his gentle playing makes the account more subdued.  He plays not as a
soloist but as one partipant among five.  The ensemble playing matchs well
with Shifrin's.  It should very interesting to see how the Emersons handle
this with Shifrin's interpretive restraint.
