I saw Serkin perform Op 109, 110 & 111 in Los Angeles, probably the same
season you did -- late 80s??

There is also a DG disk from the same era.  I was lucky in seeing late
Serkin.  Saw him in a program including Brahms' Handel Variations, and also
with the Chicago Sym/Abbado and the Beethoven 4th.  Only person I ever saw
who could create intimacy and private communion before 3000 people.
