According to whom? Melody encompasses a very wide range of sounds, and
nobody has a patent on their quality. Beethoven's melodies are much less
creamy and sweetly flowing than many composers; what that adds up to is
for the listener to decide.
Where are these musical circles? Would I be allowed to join, and what
about membership dues? Only kidding - I make it my goal to minimize my
participation in groups, present company excluded.
