Yes, it would be wonderful - but I take it that Tilson Thomas is firmly
esconsed in San Francisco. Younger members of this list may not know that
Tilson Thomas filled in for the better part of a season (as I remember it)
when Steinberg took ill. He was popular and successful, but deemed too
young. I still remember concert master Joseph Silverstein's comment:
an orchestra needs a poppa.
