I don't think it should be held against Bocelli that he cannot gesture
properly or that he cannot follow the conductor very well. After all the
guy's blind. What would matter to me is the quality and the power of his
voice. A while ago, a knowledgable salesperson, and an opera lover, at
the Tower I frequent, told me that Bocelli has to use a microphone because,
I guess, his voice is weak. Has anyone else heard this? I am not really
into opera. In fact, I am only just getting into vocal music. If he does
have to use a microphone, would it be true to opera if he uses one when
he premieres in "Werther?"
