I bought the Dream of Gerontius as recommended by many of you. I got the
Boult recording as I was told it is reliable. I have listened to it with
and without the score but I am pretty sure most of it is going over my
head. There are bits which I can relate to but I don't think I am quite
getting the rest. I suspect this is a temporary problem (in the same vein
as the problems someone is having with Brahms symphonies (I too suffered a
problem with Brahms for a while) (also with the second part of Mahler 8
which I only just sorted out) - you can tell I am a maths student()!.
However the Music Makers, also on the disk, I did find approachable after
a couple of listenings. I am only 17 after all, perhaps it will come
later.

The other things that were suggested - apostles/kingdom etc. Am I likely
to have similar difficulties with those - should I stick to the
instrumental stuff?
