Len Fehskens quoted Bert Bailey, who, in noting the $100K minimum salary
for SFSO musicians, asked:

>>...just where do I sign up!?

Len then responded:

>As I understand it, you get at the end of a very long line of other very
>highly qualified contenders for the position.

To which I add: And if the result is a product such as the Mahler 6th
that the SFSO performed at the Kennedy Center in March 1998, they are
worth every penny of it. And more.
