These are some new recordings that might whet one's appetite:
Bach's Art of the Fugue - Alessandrini - Opus 111.
Beethoven's cello sonatas - Bylsma/Immerseel - Sony.
Handel's Rodrigo - Curtis - EMI.
Mahler's Knaben Wunderhorn - Von Otter/Abbado - DG.
Schumann's Paradies & Die Peri - Gardiner - Archiv.
Shostakovich's Preludes & Fugues, op. 87 - Ashkenazy - Decca.
The one I'm most interested in is the Schumann conducted by Gardiner.
I've greatly enjoyed Schumann's other orchestra w/voice works, and you can't
go wrong with Mr. Gardiner. Is that unanimous affirmation that I hear?
