No appologies necessary. One of the most entertaining evenings I ever
spent was experiencing rock drummer Neal Peart performing with the Canadian
group- whose name I have forgotten [His regular group is Rush. -Dave] -one
evening with a teenage son about 15 years ago. This man Peart used every
percussion instrument in existance during a two hour set of 110 decibel
amplified rock. He used these instruments with taste, humor and innovation
to provide a more than unusual performance within the limited genre which
is rock and roll. The nearly endless variety of bells, cymbals, tam tams,
and percussion I have never seen before lent an air of excitement to music
which is normally insanely loud and meaningless.
