No loss. Deadly dull. Actually there is a slightly detectable improvement
with each subsequent disc, which means that the first, 103/4., is the
weakest of the three.

I'm going to suggest something un-period but arguably HIP-ish: 99-104
by the VSO under Mogens Wo"ldike (didn't we just do this?) on Vanguard.
Made in 1956, the first recordings of the HC Robbins-Landon scores, with
HCRL on hand in the studio for advice. These are great performances, to
mind among the very greatest ever made of these symphonies, in quite
spectacular sound for the period.
