Organ pieces: try Alain: the only problem is you can hear the
mechanism--that and it's out of print; maybe Langlais?
Violin sonata--I like Chung, too. Maybe Heifetz, if I recall it correctly.
String Quartet: Slim pickings, or should I say, not many choices, and
I don't know most of them. I have a complete Franck Chamber music set
on Dynamic LPs (Italian). I don't remember much about it since I haven't
played it in a while. Berkshire used to have it on LP in two volumes if
you're interested in looking into it. The Prague performances is okay,
but there's probably something better.
Quintet--I've always liked the Curzon with, I think the Vienna Philharmonic
Quartet. Again, probably hard to get. Sorry.
The Symphony is easy: Monteux/Chicago is a classic.
