Another couple that come to mind include the Tarantella (the best movement)
from Corigliano's AIDS Quilt Symphony (it's always doubled so it may be
optional), and Stravinsky's "Agon." Vivaldi wrote several concertos
featuring the mandolin (one of which occurred in an arrangement in the
film "Kramer vs.  Kramer") and also a mandolin obbligato in his oratorio
"Juditha Triumphans."
