One of Tsippi Fleisher's pieces, her "Oratorio 1492-1992" (written to
commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Jewish expulsion from Spain) calls
for a whole group of mandolins.  Also Ginastera's opera "Bomarzo" features
some uses of the mandolin in concert with a harpsichord and a viola
d'amore.
