Hi all. Soliciting assistance again.
I have here a piece (not the CD though) to catalog by Hindemith. It is not
clear what it is. No opus, date, or forces are given. I cannot find any
reference to it in Groves', Baker's, RED, Schwann, or any of the other
usual sources to which I have access. Perhaps someone can help?
According to the back of the CD cover (all I have to go on) the piece is
called:
Musikalisches Blumenga:rtlein und Ley:ptziger Allerley:
(where colons indicate umlauts after letters they are upon)
Something about a musical flowergarden I believe, and then??
The last 2 words with umlauts on the y's look more like Hungarian (Magyar)
than German. Also I could not find them in a German dictionary. I do not
have easy access to a Magyar lexicon.
The piece is probably for piano. His Ta:nzstuck, Op. 9, Clarinet Sonata
and Contrabass Sonata are included, and those performers are listed, so it
could really be for any combination of Clarinet/Double Bass/Piano, but I
doubt it.
Oh, the CD is Tacet 59.
Any help is appreciated as usal! Thanks,
Bob K, who thought he knew something about Hindemith
