Peter Downard mentioned the "Yellow Shark" as outstanding quality Frank
Zappa, which indeed it is. Most of these CD performances recorded on a
German concert hall tour in 1991 were originally realized from popular
originals on Synclavier and rearranged for acoustical instruments including
strings, brass and percussion.

Unfortunately, much of Zappa's other recorded material owes its
source to popular markets which resulted in work which was largely more
entertaining than aesthetic. If one can get past the deliberately shocking
and politically incorrect, the music is frequently very creative and the
musical performances first rate. However, Frank insisted on a portion of
satirical content which on occasion insulted a portion of sensitive
audiences. "Yellow Shark" may just be a good introduction to an
interesting diversion from routine musical fare.
