Good examples in my mind are the last section of Mahler's Das Lied, 4th
movement of Mahler's fourth symphony, and the first and last movement of
Schubert's piano sonata D.959. This is highly subjective. I'm a big fan
of the "power" in music - I'm always looking for it, and I often find it
in musical passages which, on the surface, may not be too recognizable.
