In my previous posting listing the conductors I think are best with
Mozart, I neglected to mention Mackerras.  He has provided excellent
recordings of Mozart's symphonies and the most popular operas.  Although
he employs modern instrments, his interpretations are relatively "lean"
and cognizant of recent performance practices.
