I don't know much Tcherepnin. I do know where one can find other
recordings of his music, though. Olympia (a British label) has recorded
a number of his piano concerti. (All of them, I think.) (The Louisville
LP series had a symphony and a concerto, years ago.) Marco Polo has a
symphony (the 4th.) Sometimes his piano trio- a weird, brief beast in
D minor/major/minor/something - gets an outing (the Pro Arte recording
couples it with the fine trio by Sergei Taneev). There may be a CD out
there of his 3rd symphony and triple concerto (concerto for piano trio and
orchestra- like Martinu, Beethoven and Frankel (and Casella!) and Juon in
writing for that combination...) on Thorofon or maybe I'm just confused.

There are three generations of Tcherepnins, of whom the latest and most
modern (after Alexander, that is; Alexander is basically in the middle)
died recently. (Three generations of Tcherepnin composers that get
recorded, that is.)

Enjoy!
