My serious review of the latest Berkshire catalogue identified far more CDs
I'l like than I can afford. So, I've tried to narrow my choices to areas
in which either my collection is deficient and in need of a representative
disc or, in the case of Beethoven, to an area where I am trying to expand
with quality versions. So, I decided to seek advice. I appreciate people
opinions if they are familiar with these performances.

BEETHOVEN: The piano sonatas are pieces I know I will collect and study
for my entire listening life. Currently I have the Goode set, which I like
a lot, and miscellaneous pieces by Brendel (I confess I haven't found them
the revelation that others do), and Kempff (Les Adieux and Hammerclavier)
and one disc by Annie Fisher. Berkshire is offering two by Schanbel on
Arkadia. Are these the famous ones I keep reading about on the list? Also,
how about Annie Fisher on Hungaroton?

Also, Stephen Kovachevich on Phillips with the 24 Bagatelles?

BACH: Goldberg Variations on Harpsichord (I have only piano versions and,
frankly am still struggling to fully appreciate these works). Choices:
Payne on BIS; Weiss on L'Empreint; Hill on M&A.

Brandenburg Concertos with Rillig and Oregon Bach Festival on Hanssler.

Horszowski WTC Book 1 on Vanguard. (I still have no versions of WTC
although I will recctify this soon with Jando on Naxos I believe.)

SCHUBERT: I have zero Die Schone Mullerin (amazing in light of the recent
thread!). The catalogue offers one with Schrier and guitar accompaniment
on Berlin and one with Ian Partridge on Classics/Pleasure.

RANDOM QUESTIONS: Elgar Dreams of Gerontius on Beulah

Dvorak Piano Concerto with Firkunsy on Bianco

Strauss Don Quixote with Ormandy on Biddulph

Haydn Seven Last Words of Christ--String Quartet with Tkacks Qt and choral
version on Hanssler

Mozart Music for Four Hand piano with Schiff on London

I know these are a lot of questions. Thanks for any private or public
assistance peoiple can provide.
