BENJAMIN LEES Symphony No. 4 - "Memorial Candles" has been released by
Naxos as part of their American Classics series.

Written to commemorate the Holocaust, this large-scaled work for
mezzo-soprano, violin and orchestra is performed on this recording by the
National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Theodore Kuchar conducting, with
acclaimed mezzo Kimball Wheeler, who performed the work in Israel and
America, and international violin virtuoso James Buswell.

Set to poems by Nobel laureate Nelly Sachs, this powerful, hour-long work
is one of the composer's most personal creations. Premiered by the Dallas
Symphony in 1985, the piece was subsequently performed by the Atlanta,
Houston and Winnipeg Symphonies, as well as the London Philharmonia and
Israel Philharmonic.

Benjamin Lees is world-renowned for his extraordinary musical canvases and
works featuring concertante groups and orchestra. Please visit his website
