ASV recently issued a disc of string quartets by Ireland.  I've been
looking forward to this release based on an earlier chamber music disc
devoted to Ireland on the same label.

Again, I was impressed with Ireland's music.  His string quartets are
loaded with melodic invention and even some angst; however, the foundation
of the works is optimistic in nature and sunlight is always around the
corner.  Ireland is a very good composer, and I intend to investigate his
larger-scale works.
