Yes, I must second the votes for Valenti and Horowitz and throw one in for
Ralph Kirkpatrick. Pletnev did not convince me at all, in fact, I find
his playing annoyingly idiosyncratic. I first came across Scarlatti in
the synthesized renditions by Walter (now Wendy) Carlos on the album "The
Well-Tempered Synthesizer," which is well worth a gander almost 30 years
later.
