Actually WF didn't even record one complete cycle. He made studio
recordings of 1 (1952), 3 (1947 and 1952), 4 (1950 and 1952), 5 (1926,
1937, 1954), 6 (1943 and 1952), 7 (1950).

There is only one extant WF 2nd, from his 1948 Royal Albert Hall cycle,
in execrable sound and only in the EMI set.

All of the 12 WF 9ths were recorded live.

Your advice, however, is very sound...:-)
