THIS YEAR IN RYE: Amelia Earhart marries George Palmer Putnam, then the
couple settles in a property of which one part is in Rye, the other in
Harrison. It was here that she was reported to have said, "The vegetables I
grow in my garden in Rye, I eat in my dining room in Harrison."
