There were a lot of New Mexican miners, and perhaps some from northern
Mexico, working in the coal fields near Trinidad in southern Colorado.
There is a project digging at the site of the Ludlow Massacre (Nat'l Guard
attack on striking families) which is jointly sponsored by U. of Denver
(Dean Saitta), SUNY Binghamton (Randall McGuire) and Ft. Lewis College
(James Judge). But perhaps more helpful, Margaret Wood is a graduate
student who is working at Berwind, the company town where the strikers
lived before and after they camped at Ludlow. I don't have her address
handy, but she is working for SWCA, Inc. (environmnental consultants) at
their Denver office.

Best of luck
Minette
