It's not that I don't hear any emotions other than bleakness and
desolation, but that the overiding perception I have of the pieces is in
the bleak and desolate category. Maybe it has something to do with my
basic personality. On the other hand, I love many bright and sunny works,
as long as humor is left out. We are all complicated organisms.
