Choreagraphers create ballets all the time to music that wasn't even
intended as ballet music. A long time ago I heard about (but never saw)
a ballet danced to Beethoven's Grosse Fuge, and I did see a stunning
abstract choreography to the Stravinsky violin concert. If a maitre
de ballet wanted to make up something and fit it to the Creatures of
Prometheus the lost story line wouldn't stand in the way. Fortunately
Schubert's wonderful Rosamunde music stands on its own without the
original story.
