For Historical Fans:

I certainly agree with the Busch Quartet recommendations.  For those who
note Adolf Busch's intonation problems, my recommendation is to stick it
out, and the sheer musicality of the interpretations will win out.

Also, some recent reissues of recordings by a French group, the Capet
Quartet, are definitely worth seeking out.
