If the Budapest haven't put you off historical records entirely, the
Busch Quartet (4CDs on EMI) are excellent, with the late quartets as you
requested as well as a few other gems.  I'll leave detailed descriptions
to others on the list with more experience with them than I have.

Has anyone heard the Lener Quartet in this repetoire? EMI Japan released a
set late 97 / early 98.
