When a mixture of essential oil and water is distilled, the vapour is a
mixture of the two, known as an azeotropic mixture, even though the boiling
point of the oil may be much higher than water. This is one way in which
such oils are purified.
Do the bees also lose much of the fragrance during the concentration process
in the hive?
