No, he never made it to "Concert Master" of the London Symphony Orchestra,
or "Leader" as that title is over here. Marriner was Principal of the
Second Violins at least during Hugh Maguire's time as the LSO's Leader.
Maguire was then succeeded by John Georgiadis who came from the CBSO.
