In mentioning Kurt Masur, why doesn't he use a baton? I don't know
of another major conductor that does not use one.  Bernstein didn't in
his youthful years until he developed a problem with his hand.  Masur's
conducting technique, IMO, doesn't look like anyone can follow it, but it
must be my ignorance in conducting.  Any other major conductor not use a
baton?
