If you are trying out Zem, you sould *by any means possible* check out the
works of Shrecker.  Try his "Enfanta..." suite on London for starters.  On
Koch there is his setting of a Walt Whitman poem that is beautiful.  Of
course, if you really have a hole burning in your wallet there is his
opera, "Die Gezeichneten."

I like Zem too, but Shrecker patently outdoes him in every way.
