You should always go to Berkshire Record Outlet first
(www.berkshirerecoutlet.com)--incredible prices, rare, out-of-print items.
If you live in the US it might be good to join music clubs, like BMG and
Columbia House.
For the CDs you can't find at the above places, I recommend CD Connection
(www.cdconnection.com): large selection, very high filling rate (average:
90%), and--most important--quick, reliable service. For those who live in
the US, you get a free shipment if your CDs cost over $100 (even if in the
end some were out-of-stock and the total cost turned out to be less than
100); otherwise, a flat $3.50 rate.
Their prices are considerably lower than Amazon, Borders, and Music
Boulevard, though slightly higher than Music World CD, CD Universe, A & B,
Spree, etc. But having shopped at the cheaper yet unreliable sites above,
I still prefer CD Connection because of its excellent service.
