Kathryn wriotes about a concert in London:
>The concert is entitled 'The Musitians of Grope Lane' and advertises
>itself as 'Music of the brothels and bawdyhouses of 17th century England'.
Sounds like a great giggle for the winter solstice blues. Any of our UK
listers attend?
And was the discount (concession) for concert only, or for....
(My wife says, "don't go there.")
We went to a more chaste concert of medieval carols done by Frederick
Renz's Ensemble for Early Music at New York's Cathedral of St. John the
Divine. This group is superb and deserves to be more widely known. They
have a few recordings under their belt, with more to come on their own
Ex-Cathedra label. Well worth a look and a try.
Happy holidays,
Eric Kisch
