Ulvi Yurtsever queried Janos Gereben when he wrote:

The notes from a mid-60s reissue LP, which calls it Concerto No 1 and also
Piano Concerto No 1: "The designation 'No 1', incidentally, does not imply
a second Britten piano concerto after this one. The composer chose to call
this work his 'Concerto No 1' and his violin concerto...'Concerto No 2'."
I'm not endorsing this rather odd system, just reporting.

The coupling on the LP was the Rubbra piano concerto, IMO a much better
work than the Britten and AFAIK unrecorded since. Perhaps Chandos will
record it. Perhaps they have and I blinked at the wrong time.
