I don't want to set off a fire-storm here, but I have an honest question.
There seems to be a generally negative feeling about Ozawa on this list.
Why is this the case? I ask out of ignorance; I have never seen him
conduct, and I only have one of his recordings (the Berg and Stravinsky
Violin Concertos with Perlman, which I rather like).
Are his interpretations pedestrian? Is the BSO's execution not up to snuff
under his baton?
