Although there have been various attempts in China to incorporate Western
orchestral ideas, there is still ample real music there as well.  (Regular
readers will know I don't really take orchestral music seriously, let alone
cheap knock-offs of it.)

Anyway, for some suggested recordings of Chinese literary music, readers
can refer to my page on the subject, which also contains some discussion.
