This recording has been mentioned twice now, and I must say it is horrid!!!
I don't think the orchestra could possibly be more out of tune, and
important wind solos (ie.  the fiendish bassoon solo in the last movement)
are inaudible.  Haas' performance does have merit, but I'll take these
discs for the solo works, not the concerti....

Bernstein does it fine with the Philharmonia on the RCA "Early Years".  Too
bad it is in such poor sound, as Bernstein really can play this concerto
and make it sound even more exciting than it already is.  I really like his
recording on the "Royal Edition" too.

Me too, if it ever makes it to the US.  Funny--isn't the Cleveland
Orchestra playing on that disc?!? Isn't Ohio in the USA, or am I
mistaken?!? Frustration with DG is growing--I can't get this or the Berio
Sequenzas without some exorbant shipping charge?!? AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
