Michael,

There's an article in HISTORICAL ARCHAEOLOGY 24(2):55-69 by Carskadden and
Gartley on 19th century Decorated Porcelain Marbles.

And Amazon.com has Paul Baumann's book "Collecting Antique marbles available
in paperback now. I've got it on order so can't vouch for it yet, but it
sound good.
