SUMMER SCHOOL IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL CURATION,
CONSERVATION, AND COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT

June 12 through August 4, 2000

        This 8-week course provides an in-depth, hands-on introduction to
the problems, pleasures, and practices of archaeological analysis,
conservation, and collections management.

        Working in a brand new state-of-the-art archaeological lab, students
will learn to identify, document, and photograph artifacts, methods of
artifact stabilization and conservation, and methods of artifact analysis.
Students will also work with documentary records.

        The cost is $840.00 per student.  Limited on-campus housing is
available.  Students will work 35 hours per week in directed laboratory
work.  The courses carries 8 hours of undergraduate credit or 6 hours of
graduate credit, transferable to other institutions.
