POSITIONS OPEN: ARCHAEOLOGIST
The Louis Berger Group, Inc., (Berger) is seeking applications from
experienced archaeologists to fill position openings in our corporate
office in East Orange, New Jersey and regional offices in Marion, Iowa;
Washington, DC; Richmond, Virginia; and Cary, North Carolina. We
areooking for dedicated, self-motivated individuals to pursue quality
archaeological research in a cultural resource management context.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.A. in archaeology/anthropology
and at least three years of supervisory work experience performing
background and site-specific research; conducting site
assessments, surveys, evaluations, and data recovery programs;
and preparing technical reports and proposals. Candidates with 5
to over 10 years experience preferred, although exceptional
candidates with less experience may be considered. Previous
experience with prehistoric and/or historic archaeological resources in
one or more of the following regions - Northeast, Plains, Midwest,
Mid-Atlantic, or Southeast - and familiarity with federal and state laws,
standards, and guidelines, and Section 106 compliance, required. In
addition to regional specialities, experience with GIS, Native American
consultations/TCPs, public interpretation, osteology, specialized
material cultural analysis, or geoarchaeology is greatly desired.

cultural resource management division in the county, numbering over 110
staff. Since its inception in 1981, Berger has completed over 2600
cultural resource projects for federal, state, and local clients. We
offer the opportunity to work on large, challenging projects, as a member
of interdisciplinary teams.
Demanding project schedules require demonstrated proficiency in
research, analysis, writing, organizational, and communication
skills and the ability to work on own initiative. Applicants must be
available to travel to project locations nation-wide and weekend
travel often required. Applicants must relocate to office area.
Competitive salaries are negotiated based on qualifications. These
are full time salaried positions, not project or temporary
