Back in 1972 I found several quartz crystals in a site on the North fork of the clearwater River in North-Central Idaho. Two were associated with Cascade points and one with Harder Phase materials (using Lower Snake River chronological terms). I don't know if they had any spiritual significance. The site was interpreted as a seasonal, upland hunting and fishing camp.
