Terry,

I am forwarding your response to my Caribbean ethnology and archaeology list.
There may be some insights there...I suspect there are. Are you concerned with
"Latin" America in the strict sense? I mean, for instance, Jamaica has been
"English" since the mid-17th century, but before that it was a Spanish colony,
and so Kofi Agorsah's work in maroon settlements may be pertinent. Are you
looking primarily for archaeological work, or does ethnography, history and
ethnohistory interest you too? Let me know (and I'll pass along to the
Standpipers) your interests a little more explicitly and maybe we can get you
some assistance.
