apologies for forwarding the cyprus thing: i'm also interested in archaeology,
and don't like it being abused in the political arena, but i also think we have
to be more involved in the wider world - if we didn't fight for the protection
of monuments (and our jobs) who do we have to blame if the funding gets cut off
and they bulldoze everything?
