This was presented in a Boy Scout Leaders Training for the "Leave No Trace
Program" that I attended about a year ago. It is an elegant formulation of the
archeological conservation principle, our "prime directive." I have used it in
other contexts and I think it strikes a chord for anyone who likes to explore
the countryside. Hope you find this works too.
